A modern agricultural library has to support the education by providing agricultural information exhaustively and expeditiously. It has also to support the agricultural extension by providing the latest state-of-the-art of technologies for maximizing agricultural production.

The college library was established in the year 1908, soon after the establishment of College of Agriculture, Pune. The extensive collection of national and international, books and journals are segregated subject-wise in different sections. Data entry of the books and periodicals has been made in the library software – KOHA. Besides, Internet facility and new computer laboratory have also been established for the use of the UG and PG students and the faculty. Prior to the construction of the new library building, the library was provided with the space in the administrative building of the college. Since its inception, the library is improving steadily. Numbers of collection are added in its holdings. An independent library building with sufficient space and amenities was constructed and library was shifted to it in 1997 with a floor space of 800 sq. m, which was extended to 1550 sq. m. in 2010-2011. Presently library has 4 reading halls, 2 stack halls, 1 computer laboratory, one classroom and periodical section with all necessary amenities therein. The Library is kept open for usages from 8.00 to 20.00 hrs throughout the years except Sundays and Holidays are 10.00 a.m. to 5.15 p.m. The University Library has also provided Reading Room Facility to the students, which is kept open up to 22.00 hrs.


Library has adequate number of text / reference books and bound volumes of journals.
